Shia reference of this hadith"انظر إلى ما قال ولا

7
Assalaamun Alaikum,
Respected Sir,
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
I have been always troubling you as the quest remains. In my last email I wanted a reference of hadith of Imam Ali (a.s.) which is quoted as Do not see who is saying, instead see what he said. Now I have got the arabic text of this hadith which is انظر إلى ما قال ولا تنظر إلى من قال
It is available on the below given link. I wanted to have Shia reference of this hadith. Can you please confirm whether this hadith is in Ayanu-shia and it was said by Imam Ali (a.s.). And can you please provide me the exact reference.

Thanking you in anticipation,
Yours in faith,
Was-salaam,

In the Name of God With salaams, We too wish you good health andincreasing success along the path of religion and spirituality. Your question was about the referenceof the following statement: انظر إلى ما قال ولاتنظر إلى من قال The answer is that according to someShia references, the above are the words of Ali Ibn Abitalib (AS). 1. Abdul Wahid Ibn Tamimi Amodiin the book Ghorarul Hikam (p. 438, Section 6, The Ten Sermons) has collectedthe words and sermons of Ali Ibn Abitalib (AS) and has considered the abovestatement to be the words of Imam Ali (AS). It should be mentioned that IbnShahr Ashub, the great Shia Alim and Muhadith was one of his students. Name of book: Tasnif GhorarulHikam Wa Durarul Kalam, No. of volumes: 1, Language: Arabic, Subject:Miscellaneous Author: Abdul Wahid Ibn TamimiAmodi, Date of death of author: 550 AH Publisher: Daftar-eTablighat (Propagation Office), Place of publication: Qom, Year: 1366 Shamsi(1987), First edition. 2. Sharh (Explanation of)Ghorarul Hikam (Khansari) Publication year: 1377 Shamsi (1998), First edition, Volume 3,p.442 5048: خذ الحکمة ممّن اتاک بها، و انظر الى ما قال ، و لا تنظره الى من قال 3. Name of book: MisbahulShariah, Translated by: Abdulraziq Gilani, Language: Arabic, Farsi, No. ofvolumes: 1 Subject: Akhlaq (Ethics) Date of death of author: 11th century Publisher: Payam-e Haqq (Message ofTruth), Place of publication: Tehran 4. Seyyed Ali Ibn Tawus in thebook Farajul Mahmum has mentioned the above words. The publisher is Darul Dhakhaerof Qom. 5. Sharh Mi'a Kalameh (IbnMaitham, Abdul Wahab, Watwat), section 2, p. 12 In statement 11, Amirul Momenin has said, " لا تنظر الى من قال و انظر الى ماقال, Do not look at who is speaking, but rather see what he is saying." With regard to the text you sent from a site in which the mentionedhadith was stated, the exact text is seen in Ayanu-Shia by Seyyed Muhsin Aminon pages 328 and 329, but quoted from Mulla Sadra and not the author himself. The text is related to Seyyed Muhsin Amin's (author of Ayanu-Shia) study andanalysis of the personality, scientific and gnostic (Irfani) spiritualtraveling (Seyr) and some of the views of Sadrul Moteallehin Shirazialso known as Mulla Sadra. However, in the mentioned link, they have onlystated that Shia scholars have different and sometimes contradictory viewsabout the personality of Muhyeddin Arabi and for this purpose part of the viewof Seyyed Muhsin Amin has been stated criticizing Mulla Sadra's copying ofMuhyeddin Arabi's views. However, if you are interested to seek the true viewof the author of Ayanu-Shia about the personality of Mulla Sadra, it could bebeneficial if you studied the book from page 321 that is the beginning ofSeyyed Muhsin Amin's views about the unique scientific and gnostic path ofMulla Sadra and read the author's beautiful way of defending Mulla Sadraagainst those who have not understood his words and methods and have sometimesgiven their personal views in this regard. However, one of Ostads books named Kawkab Dorri consisting of Ostads speeches of the holy month of Ramadan including research on few Ayahs of the holy Surah Anfal and illuminations from the life of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA) has been translated into English with the favour of Imam Zaman (May Allah hasten his reappearance). We shall hopefully send you a copy of Kawkab Dorri. Please advise if the address in your email is complete. With greetings, We are very glad that your heart once in a while connects with sentences by Professor Mousavi, although we do not know you well. You mention that you are not able to write in English very well; however the translator of our site attempts to transfer to us your inner truth. According to us, not knowing English is not a defect since the main thing is one's heart through which he sees his God. Our master, Imam Ali (AS) says: "I do not worship one whom I have not seen." When he was asked whether God could be seen he replied: "Eyes do not see Him face to face, but hearts perceive Him through the realities of belief." However, truly perceiving these realities requires scientific travelling in the path of philosophy, wisdom and gnosis. On the issue of 'goals in life' there is no article in our website but we will give you an example hoping that you understand our point well: For instance, a person chooses a scientific path and attempts to reach the extreme limit. On the surface, travelling along scientific paths and wishing to reach goals and extreme limits in science is 'good' but philosophy says that before saying this path is 'good' you should see what your true intention, purpose and reason for reaching this goal is. If one wants to achieve his goals for power, fame, wealth and solely for the material world it is not acceptable but if his intention is to move towards discovering the secrets of the world and recognition of his soul (nafs) this is considered to be favorable. Splitting atoms by a scientist seems to be a scientific discovery and discovering one of the divine secrets, but we should see what the true intention of the person is in achieving this goal; is it for producing a nuclear bomb or for serving people? A similar statement in religion is: Intention is the essence of all deeds. This issue can be generalized to all actions one takes during the path of his life. We wish you success in discovering the true path in your life.

Answer from ostad-mosavi.com : With greetings, We thank you because of your attention to our site's articles. Firstly, the article you commented on is a scientific one and we are not aware of your purpose for studying it. Humanism, a philosophy that considers humans to be of primary importance, says that for the acceptance of issues one should not engage in reasoning and justification. As Rumi says: Those who rely on reasoning (Istidlaliyun) have wooden legs. And [those with] wooden legs are unreliable. Is logic and reasoning the most significant issue in life or are man's heart and his desires more important? In many circumstances, man faces a dilemma on whether to follow what his heart says and abandon that which his intellect says or to do the opposite. The sophists say: The primary importance should be the heart. What your heart desires is the most significant and intellect is not important. Machiavelli and Machiavellians had similar beliefs. Be aware that man's heart, before travelling through the path of science and philosophy does not have true desires; feelings are stronger in him than the truth and feelings are a haven for errors. If every man only considers his own desires to be the main principal, intellect will get destroyed resulting in the destruction of inspirations and revelations and if revelations are destroyed prophecy will be questioned. On the other hand, the schools of Philosophy, Wisdom and Gnosticism consider the "heart" as the main principal. But what heart is this? A heart which has, with strong scientific bases, travelled steadfastly in the path of Gnosticism, Prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Wilayat (the authority invested in the Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt as representatives of Almighty Allah on this earth) and Ismat of Fatimah Zahrah (SA). In conclusion, one should first move towards science, reasoning and research and if his heart travels steadfastly through science towards Wisdom and Gnosticism, in such a case, caution, logic and reasoning will all be replaced by an internal inspiration, but everyone is not able to reach such a stage. Derived from researches of Professor Mosavi on Surah Hajj (part 3)
