Khalil Gibran was one of the pillars of Arabic literature. He was a
co-founder of
Al Rabitat al
Qalam
or the Bond of the Pen Club. He was born in the town of
Bsharri in Lebanon in 1883. He died in 1931. He was a writer, poet
and modern artist. In other words, he had a lot of scientific
knowledge. He has written books in both English and Arabic.
When he wanted to introduce Imam Ali
(AS) to the university students at the University of New York,
he asked in English, "Who is the Ali about whom I have
studied?"
And then he said:
In my opinion, Ali was not an ordinary person; he is the
spirit of the entire world.
I believe God has one neighbor and he is Ali.
One of our Innocent Imams has said:
O God, do not empty the world of Ali.
(Hassan is the same as Ali (AS) and so is Hossein. All our Imams
till Imam Mahdi (AS) are all the same as Ali)
The reason for this is that if the Earth becomes devoid of
Ali (AS),
it will devour everything in it.
It is Ali (AS) who should
preserve the Earth and its inhabitants.
Gibran also said: The value of time is due
to Ali (AS).
In other words, if there were no Ali,
night and day would have no value and the sun and moon would be of
no worth.
He said: The connection Ali (AS)
had with Allah had reached such a degree that he had no doubt and
there was only certainty.
He said: If all the curtains covering the secrets of the sky, land,
mountains, seas, plants and everything else are torn up, there will
be nothing more to be added to Ali's certainty since he has no doubt
in Allah.
This is the greatness and magnificence of
our Maula, Amir-ul-Mumineen,
Imam Ali (AS) which reflects the most eminent peaks of
Wilayat.
What
is Wilayat?
Wilayat
means to divest yourself of all your powers and to accept all
commands that come from God. (If one is like this, he is in line
with Wilayat, otherwise, whatever he says is merely a tale.)
The fundamental issue in Wilayat
is one thing and that is total
submission to God's commands.
What is important in Wilayat is attraction.
Attraction is the same as divesting one of his powers. If one
is truly attracted by Ali (AS) he will go wherever Ali (AS) goes. If
he is not in such a state, he is only exhausting himself and doing
injustice to himself.
Likewise, if the planets become the same as the sun, they will be
attracted by the sun. In such a case wherever the sun is, the
planets will be in the same place. Wherever Ali (AS) is, those
attracted by him will be in the same place. Therefore,
the fundamental issue is proximity.
If there is no attraction, proximity will have no effect on him.
According to Kepler's second law,
the closer an object gets to the center, the velocity and eagerness
will increase. Everyone should be aware that the closer one gets to
the target and the center, their speed should increase. What we mean
by speed is not the physical speed but the spirit of
eagerness.
Finally, according to Kepler’s third law, the fundamental elements
are in scales and measures. What should be measured fundamental in
the entire world is nothing but our Maula and leader, Imam
Ali (AS).
Therefore, Kepler has mentioned attraction, velocity, center and
scale and we believe what should be considered fundamental and an
axis, around which all measures should revolve, is the great
position of Wilayat from Ali ibn- Abitalib (AS) until our
Maula, the Hidden Imam, Imam Mahdi (AS).
